KU Brand Day 2019: Rise and repeat

Image representing the theme of repetition. The KU color palette repeats while building on the previous layer.

Our third annual KU Brand Day is Monday, Sept. 23. Three in a row — that makes Brand Day a tradition, and Jayhawks know that tradition is the best kind of repetition. Suitably, this year’s theme is repetition. Through that lens, we’ll explore the ways in which consistency and practice lead to excellence and evolution.

Drawing inspiration from unlikely sources, our 9 a.m. keynote will explore the value of improvisation, pursuing unforeseen paths, and trusting your own creative instincts. We’ll then host a number of breakout sessions covering topics that bear repeating. Some of those sessions will give attendees a second chance to catch popular Brand Breakfast events.

Here’s the list of sessions to choose from:

10 a.m.

  • From KU to Z: Communicating with the Next Generation of Jayhawks
Navigating the ins and outs of talking to KU’s most important demographic, Generation Z
  • Blue and a bird: Embracing simplicity in the brand
How to avoid overthinking your work by leveraging foundational brand elements: crimson, blue, and the humble Jayhawk
  • Enrollment management and the brand
A primer on enrollment recruitment, and how it informs brand work and data-driven communications

11 a.m.

After the breakout sessions, everyone will reconvene at 3 p.m. for cake and casual conversation. We can’t wait to see you again (and again and again) for this annual exploration and celebration of KU’s brand. Like the chant that inspired it, we’ll make sure it resonates.
